Have you ever been curious to see what a “robotic garden” looks like in real?
Changi Airport Group (CAG) has recently unveiled a new themed garden, Enchanted Garden. It’s an interactive, mechanical garden featuring thousand plants of different species. The garden will come alive with the recorded nature sound-scapes, which triggered by IR sensors hidden under the wooden surface. Designed and built by Kingsmen, Ascend worked together to bring an immersive and interactive experience to the passengers who visit Enchanted Garden.
Nestled at Changi Airport Terminal 2 Departure Transit Lounge, passengers can take a breather and enjoy a relaxing experience of strolling through a serene sanctuary from the tiring long haul flights.
Enchanted Garden is not just a pretty garden but also an interactive and engaging garden. Passengers will be able to see mechanical flowers “bloom” before their eyes by walking along the footpath. For your knowledge, the footpaths have been installed with infrared sensors that trigger different sounds of nature which was taken and recorded from the dense rainforests of Sarawak, Borneo.
Fibre-optic and LED lighting were embedded within the timbers, forming a carpet of sparkling lights in footpaths.
The centrepiece of the garden comprises four giant glass bouquet sculptures, carefully decorated with a mosaic of reflective and shimmering stained-glass.
Seems cool and fun? Yes, it’s real cool and awesome. So if you happen to travel back to Changi Airport Terminal 2, don’t forget to drop by and enjoy the nature ambience of Enchanted Garden.
