Stitches of Love — Hidden Blessings in Children’s Clothing and Accessories is a special exhibition co-presented by Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (SYSNMH) and the Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen’s Mansion from Guangzhou, China.

This exhibition aims to highlight the parental love and concern encapsulated in children’s clothing and accessories of the Chinese culture, and features close to 100 clothing and accessory items from the late Qing to early Republican period.

Ascend is commissioned to provide three multimedia mechanisms, allowing visitors to discover more about the richness of the Chinese language, heritage, and values through the comprehensive exhibits.

The first, Boys at Play, allows visitors to explore the intricate stitches, scenes and stories depicted on the “Hundred Boys at Play” tapestry. They also get to virtually feel and touch the artefacts through the interactive screen.

The experience continues with our customised Selfie/Photo Booth for visitors to personalise photographs taken with stickers inspired by the artefacts.

To cater for the younger crowd, we have designed and developed an interactive application that visitors can colour and personalise their own tailor-made avatar. Not forgetting to mention that the visitors can see their customized avatar comes to live on the bigger screen.
