SK-II Interactive Tester Bar @ Changi Airport

After months of working with P&G client and anticipating for the store to open, the SK-II Interactive Tester Bar is finally installed at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 Departure Hall.

This interactive application allows consumers to find out more about SK-II products, simply by putting the product on the Multi-taction table. They will be able to retrieve product information and watch videos. This technology also allows multiple users to use it at the same time and even when you are standing in the opposite direction!

Our video production team also play a part by producing a teaser video that is play along at the side of the counter to provide instruction on how to use the interactive.

Late Dr. Sun Yat Sen & His Family Exhibition

A special exhibition on Dr. Sun Yat Sen and his family was recently taken place at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall.

We were tasked to provide a few interactive displays featuring late Dr. Sun Yat Sen and his family. In honour of the contribution of Dr. Sun Yat Sen and his family, the interactive are designed to showcase their background as well as their strong family ties. Meanwhile, it aims to keep the younger generations engaged and appealed to learn more about Dr. Sun Yat Sen by incorporating interactive technology into the exhibition.

Dr. Sun Yat Sen’s family tree – this serves as an introduction panel for the guests to find out more on each and every family member of Sun Yat Sen. The information is available in both Chinese and English.

A family tree mini quiz has also been installed in the exhibition, allowing visitors to explore and understand the relationship between one-self and other family members. One of the highlights of this interactive is that the featured family members on screen are dressed in accordance to the characters lived – the early settlers wore plain clothes in older days while the younger gens wear fashion clothing. We are hoping that such treatment will appeal to the youngsters and enable them to relate to the family tree easily.

We have also developed a farming game that caters for the children and primary school students. The background of Dr. Sun Yat Sen where he grew up in a farming village inspired us to create this game. We wish to educate the children on the process of farming and raising poultry in the olden days. For instance, the children get the chance to learn about the farming information such as production period and growing tips through the game besides having fun.

All in all, “Dr. Sun Yat Sen and His Family” exhibition was a successful one that has gathered a warm response from publics. Ascend is honoured to have had the opportunity to work with Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall and Gallagher & Associates Asia to succeed the event.

In the Loop: Conferences & Exhibitions Quarterly

The first quarter of 2015 wraps up today. Thanks to multiple projects Ascend has been appointed to, it has been an active year thus far.

ART STAGE 2015

Working together with Art Stage Singapore and its exhibitors, we were able to create one-of-a-kind video projections that definitely gave the art fair a wow-factor.

Since its first show in 2011, Ascend has worked with Art Stage to showcase the best in our clients’ content for the largest global display of Southeast Asian contemporary art.

Other services included the provision of display screens and sound systems. As an associate partner and AV and IT provider for Art Stage 2015, we were proud to be able to deliver our services and look forward to working for next year’s show of amazing art pieces.

EMTECH 2015

Organised by MIT Technology Review and Koelnmesse, Ascend supported this annual conference through new-age lighting effects and video and sound systems.

Providing an atomic backdrop and moving head lights along with our 10,000 ANSI Lumens Projectors, we were able to showcase stunning visual effects in our second year as the AV provider for EmTech Singapore.

Complimenting the lighting and video display were our sound systems that allowed speakers to present on emerging technologies that are developing new markets and changing the world.

MAISON & OBJET 2015

Organisation Safi gave us the chance to support areas such as their VIP Lounge and Press Club, Conference Area, Opening Party and Exhibitor Booths such as Tribu and Oryza through our AV and IT services.

Par can lights and trussing were provided for the VIP lounge and Tribu, enhancing the lighting display in the areas, and display screens aided exhibitors in marketing their content and services.

IT support and network connectivity were also provided in the VIP lounge and press club, and sound systems, lighting and video projections aided the conference and opening party for the annual home, decoration and design show.

WORLD RETAIL CONGRESS 2015

For the third consecutive year, our team worked with i2i Events Group for the World Retail Congress that brought together leaders and experts worldwide to discuss and share insights on the retail industry.

The main highlight involved the turnover of the Main Plenary room into Breakout Sessions. Ascend provided full support in video projection, sound systems and lighting systems for the main plenary and all three breakout rooms.

The first quarter of 2015 has been delightful for our team and has left us ecstatic for what’s ahead.  We are grateful to have been able to extend our Audiovisual and IT services in a flourishing array of conferences and exhibitions and would like to thank our clients and the event organizers for the wonderful opportunity to do so.


Singapore Power’s “Energy Heroes! – The Mobile Exhibition”

Ascend Com has recently collaborated with Kingsmen Exhibits Pte Ltd and Kingsmen Ooh-Media Pte Ltd to work on Singapore Power’s “Energy Heroes! – The Mobile Exhibition”. This is an initiative by SP-EMA to inculcate awareness and good practices on energy efficiency among the youngsters.

The Mobile Exhibition was first showcased during the annual Singapore International Energy Week 2014 and it will continue travel to various schools in 2015.

In order to make education fun and interesting for the students, our in-house designers and programmers had design a series of games revolving around Zap, the sidekick mascot. The games include The Energy Squash, Kitchen Rescue, Sleep Tight!, The Great Energy Challenge and Photo Booth.

The Energy Squash” challenges players to save as much energy as they can within 60 seconds by stepping onto the pressure sensor pad.

Our team have made use of Kinect sensor in designing “Let’s Spot it” and “Kitchen Rescue”. Players are tasked to spot and identify energy inefficient habits using motion gesture and solve the mini quiz game to score bonus points.

Sleep Tight!” is a memory game whereby players are required to match the pairs based on the Zap’s nightmares.

The Great Energy Challenge”, allowing two players to compete against each other in a quiz game. To answer the quiz questions, players need to be in their best superhero poses!

At the end of the exhibition, students can also take photo using our superheroes templates at the photo booth. Not forgetting to mention that the user can opt to send the photos to their personal email or post it on Facebook to remember their day!

The largest single automotive group showcase in Asia – BMW World Singapore 2014 has showcased their captivating stories of BMW and MINI early this month at Marina Bay Sands’ Convention Centre.BMW World Singapore 2014 Mini Cooper
The show has been a great opportunity to showcase Ascend’s strength and capabilities in providing tailored experiential solutions. Along running the show ourselves, we are delighted to collaborate hand-in-hand with Kingsmen Exhibits Pte Ltd and Kingsmen Oohmedia Pte Ltd, thereby succeeding the event.

In order to bring Stories in Motion highlights to life, an array of lighting system, audio coverage and multimedia technologies were designed and commissioned.

In part with this effort to optimise visual experience, our in-house experiential producers have developed “Stories in Motion” video content on both sides of the curve panoramic screen.

To create better connection and maximum interest with BMW products, several videos on featured BMW car models are displayed on transparent LCD screens.

To further engage the visitors, we developed an interactive X-ray application for the key highlight of the show – BMW i8 plug-in hybrid supercar. Visitors are enabled to explore the car structure and parts and subsequently click to find out more information.x-rayx-ray2

With the buzz it created not only to car enthusiasts and BMW fanatics, the 3-days event became a public attraction giving every visitor an immersive and ultimate experience on BMW & MINI innovation, design and luxury.
