Singapore Power’s “Energy Heroes! – The Mobile Exhibition”

Ascend Com has recently collaborated with Kingsmen Exhibits Pte Ltd and Kingsmen Ooh-Media Pte Ltd to work on Singapore Power’s “Energy Heroes! – The Mobile Exhibition”. This is an initiative by SP-EMA to inculcate awareness and good practices on energy efficiency among the youngsters.

The Mobile Exhibition was first showcased during the annual Singapore International Energy Week 2014 and it will continue travel to various schools in 2015.

In order to make education fun and interesting for the students, our in-house designers and programmers had design a series of games revolving around Zap, the sidekick mascot. The games include The Energy Squash, Kitchen Rescue, Sleep Tight!, The Great Energy Challenge and Photo Booth.

The Energy Squash” challenges players to save as much energy as they can within 60 seconds by stepping onto the pressure sensor pad.

Our team have made use of Kinect sensor in designing “Let’s Spot it” and “Kitchen Rescue”. Players are tasked to spot and identify energy inefficient habits using motion gesture and solve the mini quiz game to score bonus points.

Sleep Tight!” is a memory game whereby players are required to match the pairs based on the Zap’s nightmares.

The Great Energy Challenge”, allowing two players to compete against each other in a quiz game. To answer the quiz questions, players need to be in their best superhero poses!

At the end of the exhibition, students can also take photo using our superheroes templates at the photo booth. Not forgetting to mention that the user can opt to send the photos to their personal email or post it on Facebook to remember their day!

BMW World Singapore 2014 | Stories in Motion

The largest single automotive group showcase in Asia – BMW World Singapore 2014 has showcased their captivating stories of BMW and MINI early this month at Marina Bay Sands’ Convention Centre.BMW World Singapore 2014 Mini Cooper
The show has been a great opportunity to showcase Ascend’s strength and capabilities in providing tailored experiential solutions. Along running the show ourselves, we are delighted to collaborate hand-in-hand with Kingsmen Exhibits Pte Ltd and Kingsmen Oohmedia Pte Ltd, thereby succeeding the event.

In order to bring Stories in Motion highlights to life, an array of lighting system, audio coverage and multimedia technologies were designed and commissioned.

In keeping with its commitment to innovation, BMW World Grand Launch, BMW i Grand Launch and Future of Mobility International Conference launches were seamlessly executed in an integrated panoramic projection curve screen.

In part with this effort to optimise visual experience, our in-house experiential producers have developed “Stories in Motion” video content on both sides of the curve panoramic screen.

To create better connection and maximum interest with BMW products, several videos on featured BMW car models are displayed on transparent LCD screens.

To further engage the visitors, we developed an interactive X-ray application for the key highlight of the show – BMW i8 plug-in hybrid supercar. Visitors are enabled to explore the car structure and parts and subsequently click to find out more information.x-rayx-ray2

With the buzz it created not only to car enthusiasts and BMW fanatics, the 3-days event became a public attraction giving every visitor an immersive and ultimate experience on BMW & MINI innovation, design and luxury.

Looking Into Innovation @ World Architecture Festival 2013

The annual World Architecture Festival (WAF) has taken place early this month at the Marina Bay Sands. The event saw hundreds of architects from several different countries coming together to compete for category awards and the grand title of World Building of the Year and Future Project of the Year.

Being the festival’s Official AV & IT Provider for the second year, Ascend was pleased to provide IT solutions for the event’s registration counters, setting up our Desktop Computers, Laptops and high-end Printers that assisted in the organised administration of participants, of which amounted to over 2,000.

Lighting, Projection and Full Sound Systems were installed in the event’s Main Ballroom and other halls, where keynote speakers presented their inspiring views on architecture during talks and seminars and a Gala Night that was held on the third day.

Our team also witnessed some of the admirable and innovative projects presented by this year’s shortlisted competitors in the numerous live Crit rooms that were used. Competitors were able to reach out to panelists and attendees and showcase their work through our Projection and Sound Systems.

In addition, we also assisted in providing Display Solutions for  exhibitors, finding them better methods in marketing their products and services through equipment such as our HD Display Monitors.

It was ultimately an interesting festival that provided a great insight to today’s building and design industry. We look forward to working with our client in making next year’s WAF even more of an accomplishment and would like to congratulate the winners of this year’s WAF a job well done!

IBM InterConnect 2013: An Interactive Experience

The IBM InterConnect 2013 was recently held at Marina Bay Sands from 9th-11th October. Attracting 2,500 attendees, it was a conference that brought about a better understanding into best practices around the latest trends in business and enabled organisations to connect with business and IT leaders from all over the world.

Ascend Com had the great opportunity to be a part of InterConnect 2013, providing Interactive and IT Networking Solutions and ensuring that key messages were conveyed to all participants.

Attendees had the chance to learn more about cloud, mobile, social and big data & analytic through the Touch Screen Displays mostly provided by Ascend.

A Social Photo Booth installed and connected to IBM’s Facebook page allowed participants to take a photo of themselves with a scenic backdrop of some of Singapore’s attractive landscapes such as the Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands.  These photos were uploaded onto IBM’s Facebook page and created a buzz in the social media world.

Our team were on site with our full AV, IT Networking & Multimedia support, making sure that participants were able to network with one another with minimal problems.

All in all, InterConnect 2013 was a successful event that has gathered a large audience. Ascend is honored to have had the chance to help participants in learning more about building a smarter business and enhancing communications between participants and speakers.

HPB uses Educational Interactive Displays

HPB5Our recent project with Health Promotion Board (HPB) to help launch their exhibition bus was not just the usual vehicle-on-the-move promotion of leading a healthy lifestyle. We reinforced the benefit of using interactive displays to communicate HPB’s multi-generational health programmes to children and their parents.

“Health on Wheels” includes six interactive health zones on myopia, physical activity, mental health, nutrition, hygiene and oral health. To make the mode of educating fun and engaging, we created animated characters in vibrant backgrounds. The games were also designed to attract both the children’s and parent’s interest like cycling, quiz game and storytelling.

Since its official inauguration at Taman Jurong Community Club, “Health on Wheels” received positive response from the local community and media. The exhibition bus will travel to 50 preschools, 50 primary schools and 50 community centers by year-end.

A closer look at the No.7 Golf Experience

The launch of Volkswagen’s No.7 Golf was a showcase of digital display; from the walk through entrance right up to the main showroom where the No.7 is presented in flesh.

We were commissioned to create a 30-seconds Watchout content that features the evolution of Golf series since its creation in 1974. All car series shared the limelight in a 1×7 seamless video wall.

To further engage with guests, an attention-grabbing 2×2 seamless video wall is placed at center of the showroom floor where a dynamic video of No.7 is played.

Located at Volkswagen Center  guests were greeted with a walk-through of digital tunnel that showcases the evolution of the New Golf series, from the firstborn in 1974 till No. 6. And  No. 7 Golf model is revealed in the showroom for all Volkswagen fans to have the first look and touch.
