Over recent times, we have seen a phenomenal rise in the number of brands using Digital Signage to transform their traditional bricks-and-mortar stores and to engage their customers more effectively.
As we walk around shopping malls, fashion boutiques, retail stores, restaurants and even galleries, seeing LED Screens, LCD Screens or Interactive Way-finding Directory has become commonplace. The concept is simple: a display in public places which utilizes video or multimedia features to advertise or inform. These displays come in all shapes and sizes.
A key factor in making the switch from traditional advertising to a digital signage solution is the advantages that digital signage offers. So, here are 5 quick facts (or benefits) about digital signage solutions.
8 out of 10 customers have entered a store because of a digital signage catching their interest.
68% of consumers are influenced to make an unplanned, impulse purchase after seeing digital signage.
Digital Signage helps minimise wait time – up to 35% decrease in perceived wait time.
Stores with digital signage displays experience a 30% average increase in upswing sales volume.
1 out of 4 customers (25%) wants to be able to see an extended range of products on screen via an in-store solution.
No matter what type of digital signage you are considering, there are loads of facts and figures out there to convince you that it is a great investment with a technology that is still on the rise.

Ascend Com has recently collaborated with Kingsmen Exhibits Pte Ltd and Kingsmen Ooh-Media Pte Ltd to work on Singapore Power’s “Energy Heroes! – The Mobile Exhibition”. This is an initiative by SP-EMA to inculcate awareness and good practices on energy efficiency among the youngsters.
The Mobile Exhibition was first showcased during the annual Singapore International Energy Week 2014 and it will continue travel to various schools in 2015.
In order to make education fun and interesting for the students, our in-house designers and programmers had design a series of games revolving around Zap, the sidekick mascot. The games include The Energy Squash, Kitchen Rescue, Sleep Tight!, The Great Energy Challenge and Photo Booth.
“The Energy Squash” challenges players to save as much energy as they can within 60 seconds by stepping onto the pressure sensor pad.
Our team have made use of Kinect sensor in designing “Let’s Spot it” and “Kitchen Rescue”. Players are tasked to spot and identify energy inefficient habits using motion gesture and solve the mini quiz game to score bonus points.
“Sleep Tight!” is a memory game whereby players are required to match the pairs based on the Zap’s nightmares.
“The Great Energy Challenge”, allowing two players to compete against each other in a quiz game. To answer the quiz questions, players need to be in their best superhero poses!
At the end of the exhibition, students can also take photo using our superheroes templates at the photo booth. Not forgetting to mention that the user can opt to send the photos to their personal email or post it on Facebook to remember their day!

Have you ever been curious to see what a “robotic garden” looks like in real?
Changi Airport Group (CAG) has recently unveiled a new themed garden, Enchanted Garden. It’s an interactive, mechanical garden featuring thousand plants of different species. The garden will come alive with the recorded nature sound-scapes, which triggered by IR sensors hidden under the wooden surface. Designed and built by Kingsmen, Ascend worked together to bring an immersive and interactive experience to the passengers who visit Enchanted Garden.
Nestled at Changi Airport Terminal 2 Departure Transit Lounge, passengers can take a breather and enjoy a relaxing experience of strolling through a serene sanctuary from the tiring long haul flights.
Enchanted Garden is not just a pretty garden but also an interactive and engaging garden. Passengers will be able to see mechanical flowers “bloom” before their eyes by walking along the footpath. For your knowledge, the footpaths have been installed with infrared sensors that trigger different sounds of nature which was taken and recorded from the dense rainforests of Sarawak, Borneo.
Fibre-optic and LED lighting were embedded within the timbers, forming a carpet of sparkling lights in footpaths.
The centrepiece of the garden comprises four giant glass bouquet sculptures, carefully decorated with a mosaic of reflective and shimmering stained-glass.
Seems cool and fun? Yes, it’s real cool and awesome. So if you happen to travel back to Changi Airport Terminal 2, don’t forget to drop by and enjoy the nature ambience of Enchanted Garden.

Our recent project with Health Promotion Board (HPB) to help launch their exhibition bus was not just the usual vehicle-on-the-move promotion of leading a healthy lifestyle. We reinforced the benefit of using interactive displays to communicate HPB’s multi-generational health programmes to children and their parents.
“Health on Wheels” includes six interactive health zones on myopia, physical activity, mental health, nutrition, hygiene and oral health. To make the mode of educating fun and engaging, we created animated characters in vibrant backgrounds. The games were also designed to attract both the children’s and parent’s interest like cycling, quiz game and storytelling.
Since its official inauguration at Taman Jurong Community Club, “Health on Wheels” received positive response from the local community and media. The exhibition bus will travel to 50 preschools, 50 primary schools and 50 community centers by year-end.
