After Hong Kong, Berlin and Bangkok, French luxury brand Louis Vuitton is bringing its Time Capsule exhibition to Singapore. The brand’s innovative Time Capsule machine takes visitors on a visual journey through the label’s landmark innovations in technology and design over 160 years.

Ascend Com is honoured to be involved in this Time Capsule exhibition, showcasing a series of cutting-edge display technologies, including the super vivid, highly sensory P2.84 LED Displays in the Magic Malle room and more than 10 sets of 84” ultra-HD digital screens within the capsule.

For the first time ever, guests will have unprecedented access to some of the most valuable pieces from the Louis Vuitton archives and the opportunity to witness French artisans demonstrate traditional leatherwork skills that remain as relevant today as they have been practised within the walls of Asnieres in the past century.

The immersive exhibition then follows a visual timeline, featuring the codes of the house, journeys around the world, the label’s various collaboration with artists and architects, the magic of the Malle (where it all started for the brand – the trunk) and the artisans who create these bespoke pieces and work within the atelier.

SYSNMH Exhibition: Stitches of Love – Hidden Blessings in Children’s Clothing & Accessories

Logo Vertical

Stitches of Love — Hidden Blessings in Children’s Clothing and Accessories is a special exhibition co-presented by Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (SYSNMH) and the Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen’s Mansion from Guangzhou, China.

This exhibition aims to highlight the parental love and concern encapsulated in children’s clothing and accessories of the Chinese culture, and features close to 100 clothing and accessory items from the late Qing to early Republican period.

Ascend is commissioned to provide three multimedia mechanisms, allowing visitors to discover more about the richness of the Chinese language, heritage, and values through the comprehensive exhibits.

The first, Boys at Play, allows visitors to explore the intricate stitches, scenes and stories depicted on the “Hundred Boys at Play” tapestry. They also get to virtually feel and touch the artefacts through the interactive screen.

The experience continues with our customised Selfie/Photo Booth for visitors to personalise photographs taken with stickers inspired by the artefacts.

To cater for the younger crowd, we have designed and developed an interactive application that visitors can colour and personalise their own tailor-made avatar. Not forgetting to mention that the visitors can see their customized avatar comes to live on the bigger screen.

Eyes of an Intern – by Jordan

Well, when everyone heard about them having internship, most of them were giving out a huge sigh, I wasn’t an exception because it means I got to work throughout the semester!

On the first day of internship, everything seems unfamiliar to me (Duh!). But one thing that I like about Ascend is that it isn’t like those typical corporate firms where you need to wear formals. Instead, Ascend allows you to wear smart casuals so long you complete the task given to you. I’m pretty sure they are even fine with you wearing singlet and slippers (just for laugh).

Intern exploring Kinect

Overall experience for my internship here was incredibly great! Doing stuff that I have been taught in poly and then get to apply the knowledge I gained from poly. Also, I was involved in development of gesture based interactive with Kinect and Leap Motion. I’m so grateful towards my supervisor, Jason who has given me so many opportunities to try out different software and technologies. Not forgetting to mention, I was assist in creating the company Christmas e-Card but of course, with much guidance and advises from fellow colleagues.

Besides the work in proper, the Ascend-ians and I hang out for lunch and dinner quite often. I can still remember that we went to Sentosa Wavehouse for Christmas celebration and gift exchange last year. All we did that day was surfed, ate and laughed! We had so much fun together even though we all felt like an Egyptian mummy on the following day.

I really love how Ascend foster their work culture — one where employees are encouraged to work hard and play hard. So I strongly recommend to those who are looking for internship, don’t give this company a miss! I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to learn new stuff here at Ascend!
